Popular responses and our comments

  1. Many of you have asked us about the possibility of Whitelabel. It is not indicated on our website (it’s our fault, we will add this information), but we provide whitelabel solutions for our customers. If you are interested, please email us request to support@tourdash.com with your requirements and we will send you a proposal for possible solutions.
  2. VR – this word appeared in many comments. Currently TourDash does not support VR-headsets, but we understand that VR is a trend today and we’re planning to explore the possibility for integration of VR in TourDash and possibly release VR beta functionality during the coming months.
  3. We’ve received a lot of notes about TourDash support. At the moment the average response time of technical support does not exceed 24 hours, and we are constantly improving our working process. Please email us to support@tourdash.com for any of your questions and we will help you as soon as possible.

Thank you all again for your answers! Keep in touch!
P.S. From the 15th of June, as it was said in the previous post, we show a banner for all demo tours, which are located not on resellers’ websites.

Important! TourDash demo tours terms and conditions

Hello there! A very important information about TourDash demo tours terms and conditions is presented in this post. Please pay your attention to avoid unintended consequences because of violation.
As you all know, demo tours are not meant for usage on customers’ websites. They are are only meant for usage on resellers’ websites to show the possibilities to their customers.
We have noticed that in some cases resellers have placed demo tours on multiple clients’ websites for long period of time. This clearly is not what demo versions are intended for.
Starting June 15th, all demo tours published not on your own website will show a banner with the following information: “Demo Version For Non Commercial Use Only”. It will of course still allow your customers to see many advantages of TourDash. Please make sure your own website is mentioned in your profile, otherwise demo’s published on your own website will show this message as well.
We believe you understand this measure and are confident it will not influence the positive effect of demo tours on your business.
For all questions please write to support@tourdash.com. Thank you!

This summer we are going to implement some new functionality and make several cool innovations with TourDash. That is why we want to make a small research about our service and to know your true opinion about TourDash.

Custom colors for your TourDash tour

Do you remember the last winner of “TourDash tour of the month”? In that tour a cool solution of custom colors for the tour elements was used.
In this post we’ll tell you how to use elements custom colors for your tour.
To modify the colors of the elements of the tour you need a little knowledge of HTML and CSS. But even if you don’t know don’t worry, we have prepared ready-to-use snippets of code that you can use in your tour.
To edit TourDash tour CSS-styles, you should have access to the CSS panel. It’s located on a Labs editor tab. If you don’t see such tab, please, write a request to support@tourdash.com and we will include this functionality to your account.
So, first let’s change the background and text color in the navigation menu.  In order to do this copy the following snippet to CSS-panel, and click Apply Styles.
The following snippet will allow us to change the highlight color of the active item in the navigation menu.

So we’ve got such navigation menu:
Custom-Colors
However, for a complete transformation, we still need to change the popups’ color. Let’s proceed. To begin let’s change popup background color.
Now, popups’ text color and heading color.

Custom-Colors
Well, now we’ve changed colors of all the main elements of the tour. In conjunction with custom markers for dynamic hotspots and custom fonts you can get a unique design and ambiance for your tour.

Upgrades of TourDash tours mobile version

Hello there! We have some awesome news for TourDash users! We have received a lot of questions about mobile capability of our tours and especially about customizing some mobile tours elements. So we finally implemented this feature. Now you are able to change the following properties of the first mobile screen which appears before the actual tour: button “Tap to view the virtual tour” color, font color and screen layout. We hope it helps to make your tours more attractive!
Let’s look at some print screens. This is how old button and first mobile screen look like:
old-mobile-button
You can change the button on the “Embed” page in a new “Mobile” tab:
new_mobile_button
Also instead of white background in old version you can set a preview for your tour which will be shown on a mobile screen under the button. All you need to do is to check “Show tour preview in mobile version” check box. In mobile preview your tour starting position will be shown:
new_mobile_preview

Then final mobile screen will look like this:
new-mobile-button
Important note! After you have made all the changes copy the new embed-code and embed it to your website.
New mobile opportunities are already available. Go ahead and try it out!

Custom fonts for your TourDash tour

Useful information for those who want to use custom fonts in TourDash tours.
First of all, to use the custom fonts, you should convert your font to web-compatible formats. You can’t use OTF or TTF directly. For example, you can use fontsquirrel’s tool to convert the font (www.fontsquirrel.com/tools/webfont-generator).
Then you should access the TourDash Asset Manager (live.tourdash.com/assets) and upload “.eot” “.ttf” and “.woff” versions of the fonts. It will be useful to create a separate folder for fonts (e.g. “fonts”) and upload the files there.
After that you should copy the URL’s for the fonts from the asset manager and write them down. Just right-click the font files and choose “Copy link address”. You will use that URL’s later to setup the @font-face section.
The next step is to define a custom css styles for your fonts. Go to the Tour Editor and open the CSS panel (you can find it under the “Labs” icon). If you can’t find the “Labs” icon then you should send a request for enabling the advanced CSS functionality to support@tourdash.com

We have prepared a code snippet for you, that can be used as a base for your custom styles.

After creating custom styles you can save your tour and start editing the popup contents. To apply a custom font for a paragraph of text, for example, you should turn on the HTML editing mode of the popup editor (click the “<>” button) and use the following code:

If you want to apply your font to popup titles, your should copy this snippet to the custom CSS panel. Don’t forget to change “OpenSans” to the name of font that you are using.

Custom-CSS
This is an example of customized tour. Custom font is a very important part of brand-management and also it’s just beautiful. Make your own tour with your own fonts and look how easy it is!
For any technical questions about custom CSS please contact support@tourdash.com.

Google Street View: interesting facts and ideas for inspiration

Hello there! Today we want to share with you our inspiration from Google Street View and work their team has been doing. Take a little break from your work and get some interesting information that can help you to catch fresh motivation and creativity wave.

What is Google Street View?

Google Street View is a technology featured in Google Maps and Google Earth that provides panoramic views from positions along many streets in the world. It was launched in 2007 in several cities in the United States, and has since expanded to include cities and rural areas worldwide. Streets with Street View imagery available are shown as blue lines on Google Maps.
Today Google Street View includes:

  • 7 continents
  • 65+ countries
  • 7 million+ miles traveled

How does all this work?

Google-Street-View-3Google Street View displays panoramas of stitched images. Most photography is done by car, but some of it is done by trekker, tricycle, walking, boat, snowmobile, and underwater equipment.

You can watch a short presentation about all this exiting process and google’s fleet on a special webpage.

There are two types of Street View content. The first is Google–owned content. They automatically blur faces and license plates in their imagery. The second is content from Google users. When others contribute to Street View, their content is accompanied by a clickable/tapable account name, and in some cases, a profile photo.

How to explore?

Google-Street-View-2With Google Street View you can explore world landmarks, discover natural wonders, and step inside locations such as museums, arenas, restaurants and small businesses.

To be in touch and get all the news from Google Maps and Google Street View you can also follow the official blog and Facebook page.
Hope you enjoy exploring all these amazing things about Google Street View and watching several unbelievable places just sitting in your room. And please don’t forget that any tour can be even more awesome with Tourdash. 🙂
